Account suspension
Also known as: Banned, Account ban
X enforcement action that removes or restricts an account for terms-of-service violations.
In depth
Suspensions range from temporary (12-72 hours, often called a 'time-out' or 'jail') to permanent. Triggers include spam, harassment, ban evasion, mass-following, fake engagement, and copyright violations.
The appeal process is opaque — you submit an appeal through X's help center and wait. Most temporary suspensions auto-lift; most permanent suspensions are not reversed. The best protection is operating well inside X's terms in the first place.
