A thread's first 6 hours determine 80% of its lifetime reach. The first 30 minutes alone determine ~40%. This checklist is the routine to apply during that window — what to do exactly when.

Pre-publish (T-30 min)

Publish moment (T+0)

First hour (T+1h)

Days 1-2 (T+24h-48h)

Common questions

How long should I stay 'present' after publishing?+

First 30 minutes: full attention. First 2 hours: monitor every 15 minutes. First 6 hours: check hourly. Past 6 hours, the algorithmic die is mostly cast — sporadic engagement is fine. The 30-minute window has the highest leverage.

Should I always pin a new thread?+

If the thread is your best work of the week, yes. If it's average, leave your previous pin (which is presumably better). The pin is your highest-value real estate — only swap when the new thread is genuinely better.

What if my thread flops despite running the checklist?+

Sometimes the idea wasn't as strong as it felt. Other times, timing fell on a news event. Other times, just bad luck. Mechanical checklists improve odds, don't guarantee outcomes. Run the audit on the flopped thread to find what (if anything) was fixable.
