Community Notes (originally launched as Birdwatch) are user-written context attached to tweets that may be misleading. Notes only appear when enough raters across viewpoints agree the note is helpful.

Earning a Community Note suppresses the host tweet's reach. The system is independent of X moderators and is regarded as one of the platform's most successful trust features.
