Posting time matters most for threads and high-effort tweets. The audiences below are not exhaustive; if your audience is concentrated in one timezone, use the closest match. For mixed-timezone audiences, default to US East peak windows — the largest single concentration of X users.
US B2B audiences (founders, engineers, marketers)
| Best day | Tuesday + Wednesday |
| Peak window | 9:00-11:00am ET |
| Secondary window | 3:00-4:00pm ET (post-lunch dip) |
| Weak day | Monday morning (in-meetings) |
| Weekend | Saturday morning works for reflective content |
| Avoid | Friday after 3pm ET (audience checks out) |
US consumer audiences (general lifestyle)
| Best day | Wednesday + Thursday |
| Peak window | 12:00-1:00pm ET (lunch scroll) |
| Secondary window | 8:00-10:00pm ET (evening scroll) |
| Weak day | Sunday afternoon |
| Weekend | Saturday afternoon strong for entertainment |
| Avoid | Friday late evening (Netflix dominance) |
EU audiences (UK + Western Europe)
| Best day | Tuesday-Thursday |
| Peak window | 10:00am-12:00pm CET |
| Secondary window | 4:00-5:00pm CET (workday end) |
| Note | EU audience overlaps US morning — many EU users see US East peak times |
| Weekend | Sunday evening works for reflective content |
Asia-Pacific (India, Singapore, Australia)
| India peak | 8:00-10:00pm IST (evening scroll) |
| Singapore peak | 10:00am SGT + 8:00pm SGT (dual peak) |
| Australia peak | 9:00-10:00am AEST + 5:00-7:00pm AEST |
| Cross-timezone trick | Schedule for the audience's local 9am, not your local time |
| Half-hour offsets | India (+5:30), Nepal (+5:45) — schedule precisely or your post lands off-peak |
Content-type specific timing
| Threads | Best at audience peak only — too important to mistime |
| Single-tweet hot takes | Anytime; can ride news cycles |
| Customer stories / case studies | Tuesday-Thursday business hours |
| Reflective / personal content | Saturday morning OR weekday evening |
| Product launches | Tuesday-Wednesday morning |
| Memes / entertainment | Friday afternoon, weekend evenings |
Common questions
How do I find MY audience's peak time?+
X Analytics > Audiences > Time of day. Shows when your followers are most active. Default to that. If you don't have enough analytics data yet (new account), use the closest audience match above and switch to your data once it accumulates.
How precise does the timing need to be?+
+/- 30 minutes of peak is fine. The algorithm doesn't reward exact-minute timing; it rewards 'within the high-engagement window'. Schedule at 9:00am ET or 9:30am ET — both work.
Should I post outside peak hours at all?+
Yes — the algorithm rewards consistency. 3-5 originals per day spreads across windows. Post your BEST work at peak; fill the off-peak slots with strong-but-not-most-important content. Posting only at peak (1-2x/day) limits overall account growth.
