The algorithmically ranked feed shown by default when you open X, blending posts from accounts you follow with recommendations.

In depth

The For You feed (often abbreviated FYP, borrowed from TikTok) is where reach happens. Roughly half the content shown is from accounts you don't follow — meaning it's the only way to grow an audience without paid promotion.

Toggling between For You and Following changes the ranking signal entirely. Following is chronological from accounts you follow; For You is algorithmic with global candidates.
