Common questions
Does this check if a username is available?+
No — we audit the handle's structural strength (length, readability, brandability, etc.). For availability, check x.com directly. The structural audit is what most checkers skip and what actually determines whether a handle compounds for your brand.
What are X's username rules?+
X usernames must be 4-15 characters, letters/numbers/underscore only. No special characters. Case-insensitive for matching (but case is preserved for display). Some words are reserved/blocked. Our tool flags rule violations + audits the structural quality of valid handles.
Why does pronouncability matter for a Twitter handle?+
Word-of-mouth growth. If people can't say your handle out loud (on podcasts, in conversations, in talks), they can't tell others to follow you. Pronouncable handles compound 3-5x faster than handles that require spelling out.
Should I use my real name or a brand name?+
Personal brand → real name (or recognizable variant). Product brand → brand name. The handle should match the entity you're building. Mismatched handles (using brand name for personal account or vice versa) confuse the audience and hurt growth.
